Trapper Vic Reporting Live From Laguna Niguel

I get a call about a dead animal in the basement. Most homes in Orange County are built on a slab.

So initially when I read this on the work order I assumed maybe the attic. I get to the home and I put on my gear, grab a flashlight and what do you know? They actually have a basement.

The odor was very strong in the basement but I didn’t find anything. I grab my ladder and go in the attic-nothing. There is no crawl space so I’m thinking maybe in the wall. I do an exterior inspection of the home and find no entry points so it doesn’t really make sense to me.

I go back in the basement and I noticed that I overlooked a trash bag. I get closer and open it up. Bingo! Probably a 35 lb. bag of raw meat that has been there for weeks without refrigeration. The customers pay me the minimum inspection fee and I literally run out of there. The woman of the household was very upset at her husband and son (as she should be). So I jetted out of there because I am too, a male. I know better than to stick around. Another close one!

Until next time,

Trapper Vic
