Someone Bail Me Out!!!

So I go to my feral cat job that I’d set up a day or two ago remove a trapped cat. Only at cat jobs will I lock the traps. Either to a tree or fence or something like that. And this is why. We are a humane company and we love the animals. I understand that there are animal lovers. Dogs, raccoons, even skunks and snakes. But nothing comes close to cat lovers.

When I arrive at my customers house she’s outside with several people. Her next door neighbor is there and is yelling at the top of her lungs that the cat trapped is hers. My customer and her husband are shouting back at her that it is a feral cat that is destroying their lawn. I try to separate them and tell them that if it doesn’t have a collar on that I’m supposed to take it. The neighbor would not let me.

After about thirty minutes of arguing I tell the neighbor if that’s your cat, prove it. She walks up to the cage and puts her hand next to it and nothing happens. Usually with feral cats they hiss at whoever is there and it’s nasty. So my customer agrees to let it go with the neighbor. I release the cat and the neighbor bends down to pick it up and gets clawed in the face. The cat runs away and now my customer is upset that she didn’t have me remove it. In the midst of all of this, the neighbor is still insisting that it was an accident and the cat got aggressive because of my trap. Can’t win ’em all…

Until next time,

Trapper Vic
